Touring
The local area is very attractive and you may find that you are content to explore the villages and nearby towns. There is a fine chateau just 3 km along the river, and several others not far away. You should not miss Dôle and the historic little town of Pesmes.
Just to the north of this area you will find some spa towns, such as Luxeuil les Bains.
Within a two-hour radius, the cities of Dijon, Besançon and Basel are each worth a day trip.
If you are ready to explore a bit further, the roads are good and in a couple of hours you can reach the Vosges mountains to the North-east, the Jura to the South and Switzerland to the South-east. And to the South-west is the famous wine growing area of Burgundy.
